Paris Fashion Week - Highlights Part 1

It is the final city for the fashion month, Paris.  I always think that Paris is usually the most exciting.  It just seems to always be a step ahead of everyone else, but that's Paris, the fashion capital of the world.  Part one of my Paris Fashion Week review will highlight some of the bigger names in fashion Elie Saab, Balenciaga, and Balmain.

Eli Saab
Colour was everywhere at the Eli Saab show, with white, pink, blue, and black as the primary colors used.  Bows were prominently tied around the neck, colored belts were utilized, and stripes, lace, and florals were consistent.  The pink chosen was this beautiful magenta pink, vibrant and fresh and looked great sat next to the bold blue.

The amazing Alexander Wang is the master mind behind the Balenciaga collection and the SS16 collection will be his last for the fashion house.  For his last collection the designer chose to use all ivory; in lace, sheer, or satin fabrics.  Dresses were long, or models wore wide legged pants with midriffs showing.  You can really see the difference in this collection for Balenciaga vs. his own collection that I highlighted in my NYFW Highlights Part 2.

Quickly becoming a recognized brand and design house due in part to designer Olivier Rousteing's celebrity friends, most well-known being the Kardashians.  But his clothes are beautiful and could definitely stand on their own.  I didn't love the color palette that he chose to use.  The camel suede used just seems a bit harsh and heavy.  Lots of ruffles everywhere, they're girly, but there is also an edge to, I think, everything Olivier Rousteing's touches.  The contrast is really great!
